That Rockin’ Chick's got Powers!
Amidst the backdrop of palm trees and sand, in the confines of sunny South Florida, there is a movement swelling like the waves that crash to shore. Learning to under the tutelage of Rebecca Powers, young women from across the state are chanting "I'm a totally rockin' chick!"
Who is Rebecca Powers, and how did she become a rockin' chick? Rebecca was not always the rockin' chick that she is today. She, like so many young women, was not living her passion. Her life was filled with some of the same hardships so many others face, and are facing, including a loss of a loved one when she was young, struggling through a difficult divorce and making her way through the labyrinth that is corporate America.
Along her journey, Rebecca was very fortunate. Unlike a lot of people, she had a good support system. She not only had good friends and family, but friends who were a positive influence that steered her in the right direction whenever she felt she may be veering off the path. Her real breakthrough though came merely by chance.
Rebecca's background includes the managing of sales teams. Her love was not in the work, but in the people. She was working in an IT job, when Rebecca was referred to a spiritual coach by the name of Laura Mendelson. Rebecca came to Laura with no real intention, but left feeling she had a new lease on life. It was upon meeting with Laura that Rebecca began talking to her about what was really important including her career ambitions. Laura responded by telling Rebecca that she is a healer. Not a medical healer, but a healer through communication.
While Rebecca has always known her strength is as a communicator, she had never had it laid out in front of her like this before. She knew she enjoyed talking, and in fact, loves talking to and with people but never saw it as such a positive professional attribute. Then, Laura asked her, "Why are you not using your god given gift to gab?" Taken aback, Laura proved further asking what truly her passion was, and Rebecca noted that she has a passion for creating positive change. "What is preventing you from doing this?" Laura asked. "What is preventing you from living your dream?"
After her divorce, Rebecca went into survival mode. Looking to merely get by, she was living for her children and doing what she needed to do but not necessarily what she wanted to do. Laura referred Rebecca to a coach, Amondarose Igoe, so that she could start making the positive changes she was looking to make.
While working with Amondarose, Rebecca started "The Girls Rock Network". The Girls Rock Network focuses on transferring dreams into reality for young women ages 20-30 years old. Through workshops and private coaching, Rebecca works with women to build self-esteem, enhance their self-worth and to set goals for themselves.
Workshops are available to women ready to take that next in their path to greater fulfillment, much the same way Rebecca took her first steps. She takes the women back to when they were a child, explores their dreams and ambitions they had then. It is never too late to start materializing your dreams, Rebecca believes, and the first step is reclaiming self-worth.
The next step in attaining a truly rockin' life, Rebecca then teaches women leadership skills through her Rock Solid Leadership Now program. Here, she teaches women to be leaders and how to react to people in a positive way. She helps them understand how to influence people, how to get the most of people at work, and how they and the people around them can attain extraordinary results.
Whether it is through speaking to women, coaching women or teaching women via workshops and seminars, Rebecca's ultimate goal is far more reaching. She intends to touch not only hundreds, but millions of women, helping them make positive changes.
She is currently in the planning stages of creating a global environment whereby allowing women from all over the world to interact, help each other, and to help themselves become not only better women but women living better lives.
At the beginning of one of Rebecca's initial workshops, each woman stands up and declares "I'm a totally rockin' chick" and Rebecca Powers is truly one rockin' chick making positive changes in young women. She is living a life of passion, and showing other women that they too can do the same. For more information on how you can become a totally rockin' chick, contact Rebecca Powers at:
